Mooring Operations - One Small Slip. Whether ships are mooring every few days or every few weeks, mooring is a high-risk operation. The film addresses the unacceptably high number of incidents in which crew have been injured, sometimes fatally, while participating in this routine operation.

In a recent report UK P&I Club reported that "All crew should be trained and be familiar with bights, snap-back zones and the hazards associated with mooring operations."

The film moves through three incidents to illustrate what can go wrong, using icons to clearly demonstrate good and bad practice. It underlines the importance of preparation, teamwork, control and correct use of PPE and demonstrates the role that weather, maintenance and complacency can play.
